DESERT RAIN MIDWIFERY

Desert Rain Midwifery offers homebirth care for the childbearing year as well as a range of gynecology services. We seek to restore humanity to healthcare by providing care that is deeply personal and clinically comprehensive. With us, continuity of care isn’t a feature, it’s the foundation. You can expect transparency around risk, respect for your autonomy, and true discernment built on extensive experience. Our providers are certified nurse midwives, independent practitioners with full prescriptive privileges.

Welcome! We are glad you’re here.

WHAT SETS US APART

Birth as it's meant to be.

Desert Rain Midwifery is built on the belief that birth begins in physiology, not pathology and our role is to support birth, not manage it. Every decision, every conversation, every moment of care reflects that.

Presence, not process.

This is a practice where you are genuinely received. Calm, meticulous, and deeply relational — care that meets you as a whole person, not a name on a chart.

CNM-level expertise, at home.

Graduate-level training, prescriptive authority, and full clinical scope — brought to the place you feel most comfortable. You don't have to choose between the birth you want and the safety you need.

Your midwife knows your story.

From your first prenatal visit through postpartum, you work with the same provider. No rotations. No introducing yourself to a stranger at the moment that matters most.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

Eliza met me in a moment of fear in the depths of my labor, looked me square in the face and reminded me that I could do it with such genuine kindness that my doubts evaporated; her care is equal parts comforting and empowering. I am so grateful to have had her with me when I gave birth to my son.

Trish

Eliza is such an amazing midwife! After two epidural, hospital births I wanted a natural, water birth for my 3rd baby. Eliza was so kind and gentle as she talked me through what was happening. She encouraged me when it got hard. She coached me through different techniques and she thoroughly explained different options when decisions needed to be made. She made me feel comfortable and loved before, during and after my baby’s birth!

Bryanna

Having Eliza as our attending midwife was like having a kind auntie, who was also an incredibly competent medical professional, deliver our son. We faced some unforeseeable birth complications, and I was so impressed by how well Eliza handled the situation. She not only saved my son’s life, but she also took the time to help my husband and me process everything. I am so grateful we had her for our first birth, and we would absolutely work with her again for any subsequent children.

Kayli

Eliza was such a calming presence during my birth! She really just let me do my thing, and only checked in when needed. I loved how she always let me know my options, but never pushed anything, like cervical checks or breaking my water. It was all my choice, and she was just there to support my wishes, which was amazing! She helped make my birth such an incredible experience that I will never forget.

Savannah

Midwives like Eliza make birthing an exciting and wonderful experience by creating a safe environment where we can birth on our own terms, feel empowered, and trust that we will be met with kindness and support. I was so fortunate to have Eliza, my husband, and my birth team by my side. I highly recommend that anyone considering a home birth reach out to Eliza! Birth is truly empowering and beautiful!

Lisa-Ashley

Eliza was ON IT. She helped coach my husband in catching our son which meant a lot to us. She let me birth my placenta without Pitocin which I really appreciated. She was an incredible coach. She and the assistant were gold stars. I loved how patient she was with me. She truly just respected all my wishes and when I said I didn’t want any more checks or breaking my water she was completely OK with that. I LOVED my experience with Eliza and I hope to recreate it to the best of my ability with my next labor and delivery!

Alexis

Eliza provided such a calm and confident presence during my labor and delivery that enabled me to overcome the fear and apprehension I was feeling during labor. I distinctly remember Eliza encouraging me that ‘there is no wrong way to birth’ and she completely believes that women’s bodies were built to do the beautiful work of birth. She was such an attentive and compassionate provider during my prenatal and postpartum visits as well. I really felt like Eliza respected and supported my choice to take a more natural route in postpartum care and would even offer more holistic wellness options when I asked. I truly believe Eliza was born to do the marvelous work of midwifery.
